Tuition Fees and Living Expenses
The tuition fees vary from course to course and from
university to university. The tuition fees usually
vary from NZ$ 10,000 to NZ$ 18,000 (Rupees 2 Lakh to
Rupees 3.75 Lakh) per annum. The estimated living
expenses per annum are around NZ$ 9,000 to NZ$ 11,000
(Rupees 2 Lakh approximately), which include
accommodation, food, travel expenses, clothing and
communication etc.
Part Time Work
International students who wish to work during the
long summer holidays are permitted to do so if they
are undertaking a full time course of more than 12
months duration. They will need to apply for a
variation to their student permit from the local
branch of the New Zealand Immigration Service and pay
a fee. (It should be noted however, finding employment
should not be an expectation for those entering a
tertiary institution).
Postgraduate students may, on application, be granted
a variation to their study permit to enable them to
undertake part-time employment during their studies
provided the employment does not exceed 15 hours per
week and the application is accompanied by a letter of
support from the institution.
